A HP 123 Setup Black Ink Cartridge, a HP 123 Setup Tri- Colour Ink Cartridge, a software CD, a setup poster and a power cord. The HP Envy 4501 All-in-one Printer is designed to fit anywhere you want it to. Unpack the power cable that was included in the accessories, and plug it into the port on the rear of the printer and then plug the other end of the cord into a wall outlet.
Turn on the printer by pressing the power button. To install the setup ink cartridges, open the ink cartridge access door. The right cartridge slot has been allotted to the black ink cartridge and the left slot has been allotted to the tri-color ink cartridge. Insert the setup cartridges into the respective slots, click them into place and then close the cartridge access door. Position the alignment page on the scanner glass, close the scanner lid and then press either the Start Copy Black button or the Start Copy Color button on the printer control panel to align the cartridges.
Issues like missing black or color ink in the printed output, or the printed page is blank or has very little ink can be resolved as follows: Use genuine HP ink cartridges Check ink levels and replace ink cartridges that are critically low or empty To view the ink levels in Windows: With your printer turned on, click the name of your printer in the HP folder on your computer.
With your printer turned on, click the name of your printer in the HP folder on your computer. Click Maintain Your Printer and in the Device Servicestab click Clean Ink Cartridges If the print quality of the test page is acceptable click ok. Else, click Second-level Clean.
With your printer turned on, search the Mac for Print and select Print & Scan Click the name of your printer, and select Open Print Queue. Click Open Printer Utility and select Clean Printheads. If the print quality of the test page is acceptable click Ok. Else, click Second-level Clean.
Identify the problem ink cartridge and replace it Review the test page and check to see if there are any defects in the black text and the colored blocks on the page to identify the defective cartridge and replace it. Contact HP Support if the print quality issues persist.
